Welcome back, Ferndale families!

We loved seeing your students back on campus today! It was so great to have our schools full of students again, and we are excited for a great year ahead.

Thank you also for your flexibility with today’s 1:00 p.m. release. We know an early release can be inconvenient for families, and we appreciate your support.
Beginning tomorrow, September 1st, we are back to our full schedule. A few important reminders about morning arrival:

  • 7:30 a.m. — Expanded Learning Program opens for enrolled TK–6 students only. We currently have a waitlist for both morning and afternoon ELP.
  • 8:00 a.m. — Cafeteria doors open for breakfast.
  • 8:10 a.m. — Classroom doors open.
  • Students should not arrive on campus before 8:00 a.m. unless they are enrolled in the Expanded Learning Program.
We do not have supervision available before 8:00 a.m. for students who are not enrolled in ELP. If a student arrives before then, we will need to contact a parent or guardian to stay with them until supervision begins.

And don’t forget what’s happening this week:
  • Tuesday, Sept. 1: FHS Volleyball at Fortuna — 5:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 2: Boys Soccer vs. Del Norte at FHS — 3:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 2: Girls Soccer vs. Del Norte at FHS — 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 3: FHS Volleyball at McKinleyville — 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 3: Junior High Back-to-School Night in the cafeteria — 6:00 p.m.
  • Football: Bye week this week.
  • Monday, Sept. 7: No school.
We’re also sharing our district-wide staff photo from Back-to-School Professional Development — we’re excited to start the year together and continue Building Pathways for Success for our students.
Thank you for a great first day!
