  1. Please release Varsity baseball players at 9:45 today so they can leave for their tournament in Redding. Kyler Radelfinger, Garrett Christiansen, Jenner Christiansen, Brent Luster, Nico Alejandre, Putter Walters, Landon Gomes, Cody Collings, Shaun Leonardo, Austin Hughes, Finn Gatlin, Ben Gomes, Vincent Meade, Paden Prior and Mattias Alejandre.
  2. Parents: Ferndale Downs is this Friday!!  March 22nd!!  Doors open at 6:30.  Come down and help raise money for Safe and Sober Graduation.
  3. Our next door neighbor Tom Eastman is looking for someone to help him around his house. He is offering $12 per hour to help him carry things, a little yardwork, etc.  If you are interested please call him at 499-6500 or let Kristy know in the office.
  4. A Community Chest account was created for the Bramwell family, for Jonas. If anyone would like to donate money to the family, one may do so by writing a check to Community Chest. Put “Bramwell Family” on the memo line and the funds will go towards them.  To send in a check use the following address:  Community Chest  O. Box 934  Ferndale, CA 95536.
  5. The Nick’s Internship program is accepting applications for the summer of 2019 and they are due right around the corner on March 22nd. The internship is 3 weeks long and is a paid summer internship with the BLM out of the Whitethorn office and the MRC in Petrolia for High School students interested in Conservation and Watershed Restoration work.  Any questions or need more information, see Ms. Banke.
  6. Teen Court Training on Thursday, March 28th from 4:15 – 6:15 at the Teen Center in Eureka (Corner of K & Harris). If you are interested in being on Teen Court please email .  Teen Court is a diversion program for first time offenders.  It’s a real court run entirely by teens – teen jury, teen attorneys, judge, etc.  Our program is based on youth empowerment and restorative justice.
  7. Jean Davis is looking for a Sophomore or Junior to do yard work (mow grass, wash windows, etc.) She lives about a ½ mile out Centerville Road so you will need transportation.  If you are interested or have any questions please call 786-4822.
  8. ASB is selling wrist bands for Jonas Bramwell. If you would like to buy one they are $1 minimum and anything over $1 is a donation.  Please help support our Hero Jonas. If you have any questions, see Bryleigh Busick
  9. On Friday, March 29th ASB will be hosting a movie night in the gym starting at 7:00 p.m. The movie featured will be Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse.  Leo Club will be providing concessions.  All proceeds will go to the Bramwell Family.
  10. Yearbooks are now on sale!! If you would like to purchase your yearbook for the early bird price of $55 you can do so now in the office.  Prices will go up to $65 after Spring Break.  If you have any questions, see Mr. Chiles.
  11. On March 29th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m there will be a very special night that is being planned for the Ferndale School Community at the Belotti Hall. The Multicultural Festival is an event that celebrates the many cultures, traditions, food, song, dance and people of our community. The event includes the entire Ferndale Community and is intended to showcase the many cultures of the students here at the Ferndale Unified School District. This event is open to families in ALL grades! If you have any questions, see Ms. Banke.
  12. Seniors: New Scholarships:

*Humboldt Association of Realtors Scholarship.  Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Due April 5, 2019

*Orlen Christensen Memorial Agricultural Scholarship Must have a GPA of 2.85 or higher.  Due May 15th

*Humboldt Builders Exchange for anyone going into the construction field.  Must have a 2.0 GPA or better.  Applications due April 12th.

*Redwood Memorial Foundation Scholarship for anyone going into the medicine field. Applications due at Redwood Memorial Hospital by

March 29th

*Sanctuary Forest, Inc. Scholarship for anyone demonstrating an interest or active involvement in environmental issues.  Application due May 1st
