Happy belated birthday to Kevin Martinez (yesterday), tomorrow to Rex Rolff and Sunday to Seth Regli!!

 

  1. The ASB is selling Valenine’s Day Orange CRUSH Bottles for $3 each. Come to the office and order yours today!!  Crushes will be delivered on Valentine’s Day.
  2. Any Junior boy or girl that would like to apply for Girls/Boys State please get an application from Ms. Banke. This is a nationwide program where students spend the week in a leadership program designed to increase awareness and knowledge of governmental processes while making lifelong friends from around California.  Girls State is located in Los Angelesand Boys State will be in Sacramento both at the end of June.  Applications are due February 15th.
  3. Pasta will be having a bake sale today during the boys basketball games. If you can bring a baked good it would be greatly appreciated.  This is a fund raiser to raise money for Safe and Sober Graduation.  Please bring your baked goods directly to the game on Friday night.
  4.   5. Seniors: Humboldt Area Foundation will be here February 7th during your financial management class.  He purpose of this visit will be to get you started on scholarships.  Any questions please see Ms. Banke or Mrs. Becker.
  6. Semi formal will be Saturday, February 9th from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. at the Red Barn at the Fairgrounds. You can buy tickets from Kyersten Borges.  Pre-sale tickets are with ASB Card – single $10.00 couple $15.00.  without ASB Card – single $15.00 couple $20.00.  At the door prices will be single – $20.00 couples $25.00.  Any questions, ask Kyersten.

*Coast Central Credit Union Scholarship – $5,000 for four years.  Must attend HSU, Shasta or Chico State and need to at least have a C average.  Deadline is March 14th.

  1. Please excuse the JV boys basketball team after 6th period today for their game in Hoopa.
  2. For those students planning on playing in a Spring sport and you haven’t had a concussion test this school year, you will need to get it done today @ 1:00 in the library. If you do not get this test done then you will not be allowed to practice until it is done. If you have any questions see Mr. McClurg.
  3.   1. Softball girls: if you are planning to play softball this year, there will be a quick meeting Tuesday after school in the foyer of the gym at 3:30 p.m.
  2. Juniors: Next Thursday, January 24th, there will be a class meeting in Mr. Michael’s room at lunch time to discuss Senior Sweatshirts and Prom.  If you have any ideas for Senior Sweatshirts, please bring them to this meeting.  Any questions, see Vince Ceffalo.
  3. Semi formal will be Saturday, February 9th from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. at the Red Barn at the Fairgrounds. You can buy tickets from Kyersten Borges.  Pre-sale tickets are with ASB Card – single $10.00 couple $15.00.  without ASB Card – single $15.00 couple $20.00.  At the door prices will be single – $20.00 couples $25.00.  Any questions, ask Kyersten.
  4. Pasta meeting next Wednesday, January 23rd @ 6:00 in the library. We will be planning Ferndale Downs.  All parents are welcome!!
  5. Seniors: Numberous DAR Scholarships are available in the scholarship box:  Students majoring in Science, Math, English, History, Occupational Therapy, or Medical professionals.  Also, there are two Native American Scholarships.  If you have any questions about any of this year’s scholarships, you can call Tina at the elementary school at 786-5300.

  2. Soroptimist Kathleen McVey Memorial Youth Citizenship Award applications are due this Friday, January 18th. Must be at the Fortuna address on the 18th, not mailed that day. For Senior Girls, award of $1000.
  3. Teachers: Portal will open this Friday and close next Wednesday, January 23rd.  If you have students that have finals to make up, please let Kristy know.
