“That awkward moment when you’re wearing Nikes and you can’t do it.”

 

  1. We will not have school on Monday in observance of Veteran’s Day! Have a great three day weekend!!
  2. Seniors: Those applying to CSU’s and UC’s the deadline is approaching, November 30th!! Please don’t wait until the last minute!! Get’er done!!
  3. Seniors: Tri Counties Bank awards scholarships of up to $1,500 each to students attending a 4 year college and up to $1,000 for those attending community college. Awards will be made to talented high school seniors who demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement and business entrepreneurship – especially among our economically disadvantaged youth.  For more information, please visit shastacf.org/scholarships.  There will also be copies in the scholarship box in the library.
  4. Sophomores interested in doing HOBY please see Ms. Banke. Deadline is Nov 9th.
  5. Next Tuesday, November 13th there will be a US Forest Service/Wildland Fire Services Career Guest Speaker during 7th period in Mrs. Becker’s Career and College Class (room 2).  You must sign up in the office to attend.
  6. Senior girls: The Kathleen McVey Memorial scholarship in the amount of $1000.00 is due January 18, 2019.  This scholarship is based on citizenship, not financial need or GPA.  Applications are in the scholarship box in the library.
  7. ANY Ladies: Not just for Seniors!! Scholarship opportunity: Are you a young woman between the ages of 14 and 18 who volunteers in your community or school? Who sees challenges instead of obstacles?  Hope instead of despair? If you are a young woman who believes in the power of volunteer action, then you may be eligible to win a Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award.  If you would like an application, please pick it up in the office.  Applications are due next Thursday, November 15th.
  8. ASB Cards are now on sale!! They now cost $15.  You can now buy your cards in the office.  Class treasurers, please turn in your money and receipt books to Kristy.
